Terms of Use
Last updated: July 28, 2026
Screen Path guides you through cinema with educational content. It does not stream, sell, rent, or license the films featured in the app.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Screen Path iOS app, website, and related content (together, the “Service”). Screen Path is provided by its independent developer (“Screen Path,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Screen Path. If the law where you live requires a higher age for you to agree to online terms, a parent or legal guardian must agree on your behalf.
2. What Screen Path provides
Screen Path is an educational film-discovery guide. It may provide curated journeys, film information, context before watching, analysis afterward, videos, quizzes, and related editorial material.
Screen Path does not provide the featured films themselves. You are responsible for finding a lawful way to watch a film outside the app. Availability, ratings, credits, release information, and other film details can vary by region and may change.
The Service is currently usable without a Screen Path account. Your watched-film history, ratings, reviews, quiz results, and similar profile activity are stored by the app for your personal use. Features may evolve, and we may add, change, suspend, or discontinue content or functionality when reasonably necessary. We do not promise that any particular title or feature will remain available indefinitely.
3. App license
The app is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use Screen Path for non-commercial purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Media Services Usage Rules.
If you obtain Screen Path through Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your app license and is incorporated into these Terms. These Terms govern the Screen Path-specific Service and content. Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting Screen Path.
4. Subscriptions and paid access
Screen Path may offer paid access to premium content or functionality through auto-renewable subscriptions purchased in the App Store. The subscription options, prices, billing periods, introductory offers, free trials, taxes, and other purchase details shown in the app or App Store checkout are the terms that apply to your purchase at that time.
Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. Apple may charge your selected payment method up to 24 hours before the start of the next subscription period. Unless you cancel, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. If a free trial or introductory offer is available and you are eligible, the subscription renews at the then-current standard price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current billing period ends.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting Screen Path from your device does not cancel an active subscription. Refund requests, billing support, family sharing, payment authorization, and price-change notices are handled by Apple under Apple’s applicable terms and policies.
If Apple reports that your subscription is inactive, canceled, expired, refunded, revoked, or otherwise not verified, Screen Path may limit access to paid content or features. You can use the app’s restore-purchases option to ask Apple to refresh your subscription status.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service unlawfully or in a way that infringes another person’s rights;
- copy, redistribute, publicly display, sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content except where we or applicable law expressly allow it;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, except to the limited extent applicable law permits despite this restriction;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically extract the Service’s content or data;
- bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities, introduce malicious code, overload infrastructure, or interfere with normal operation; or
- remove or obscure copyright, trademark, attribution, or other proprietary notices.
6. Content, intellectual property, and credits
Screen Path’s software, design, original videos, quizzes, editorial writing, branding, and other original material are owned by Screen Path or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.
Film titles, posters, backdrops, credits, descriptions, trademarks, clips, and other third-party materials belong to their respective owners. Their presence is for identification, commentary, criticism, education, or other permitted uses and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
Film metadata and images may be sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB). Screen Path is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Your use of third-party information remains subject to the rights of its owners.
7. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties, including Apple for distribution, TMDB for film data and images, and Google Firebase or Google Cloud for backend, hosted content, diagnostics, or delivery infrastructure. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies, and their availability is outside our control.
Links to external services are provided for convenience. We do not control or endorse all external content and are not responsible for a third party’s acts, omissions, accuracy, availability, or security. Use external services in accordance with their terms.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains the limited information handled when you use Screen Path. We do not use advertising or behavioral analytics and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
9. Educational content and disclaimers
Screen Path provides general educational and informational content. Interpretations, rankings, quiz explanations, and commentary involve editorial judgment. Although we aim for accuracy and quality, we do not guarantee that all content is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for every purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement where legally permitted. Nothing in these Terms limits warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Screen Path will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Screen Path during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or €50. These limitations do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not permit us to limit.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create legal or security risk, or misuse the Service. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—survive termination.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also retain the protection of mandatory laws and the right to bring proceedings in the courts available under the law of your country of residence. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Screen Path, third-party services, or legal requirements. We will post the revised Terms here and update the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably practicable or legally required. Continued use after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where the law requires another form of consent.
14. General terms
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect, and the invalid provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, transfer, or sale of the Service, subject to applicable law.
15. Contact
Screen Path is provided by Stéphane Gérardot, an independent developer. Questions about these Terms can be sent to sneakydevteam+screenpath@gmail.com.
